We all spend a reasonable amount of time in the kitchen. We prepare and cook meals there, host guests, and do certain paperwork. But how many of us are actually happy with how our kitchen looks? You may shy away from redoing your kitchen because of the cost and probable weeks of downtime. If so, you must look for good cabinet refacing pros in Las Vegas. They are probably the answer to your kitchen design woes. Cabinet refacing lets you finally get on some modern kitchen trends and update your kitchen without hurting your wallet and schedule. Here are some of the benefits you get to reap when you reface your cabinets:

It costs less than cabinet replacement.

Data show that homeowners allocate around $6000 on cabinet refacing. That is about half of the cost of a complete cabinet replacement project. Newer cabinet installations can cost $18,000 to $24,000 with high-end custom cabinets. Homeowners can now transform their kitchens while pocketing the difference. With the amount of money you can save with cabinet refacing, you can eventually splurge on other “extras” and “upgrades” that can make your kitchen more functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Of course, cabinet refacing can easily exceed the average $6000 budget. Some factors can drive up the project’s total value, like choosing more intricate and decorative hardware, such as knobs and handles. Adding some organizers and fixed accessories into your cabinets can also increase the cost of cabinet refacing. These include Lazy Susan installations, plate racks, drawers, lighting, etc.

    Time is in your hands.

Replacing cabinets to upgrade your kitchen can be a lengthy process. You’d have to completely rip out your old existing cabinets, clean up the mess, do some measurements, and install the units. Meanwhile, with cabinet refacing, the process can be done quickly. Some projects can even be done in a day, depending on the size of the cabinets. The best advantage of refacing cabinets for busy individuals is that you can still fully use your kitchen. This is a better option than replacing your entire cabinet, which can sideline you for weeks.

Freedom to choose materials and manufactured wood.

Manufactured wood comes in a range of prices and quality. You can choose the ones that suit your lifestyle and go well with the weather in your area. Here are some of the most common ones:

    Medium-density Fiberboard

MDFs are made of very small particles of crushed wood that have been compressed with resin to create a board. It offers a smooth surface that can hold screws and often come with a rigid thermofoil finish.

    Plywood

Manufacturers create plywood by bonding multiple layers of good wood together using glue and appropriate pressure. Thick plywood pieces can be used for cabinet box sides, while thinner ones can serve well as backs for cabinets. Plywood cabinets can be sturdy, but they can also become quite hefty, so you have to consider them well if you want them for your upper cabinets.

    Particleboards

Particleboards are pretty much made the same way as MDF but with larger wood particles. They are covered with a vinyl film or laminate material. Particleboards may be a hit or miss, so you might want to avoid low-grade ones that are thin and flimsy as they tend to warp easily.
